Using Remote Desktop Connection for Mac to Access Windows Computers

These steps will allow you to connect to a Windows based computer from a Mac. You will have full control over the PC as if you were in front of it.

Run Remote Desktop Connection

Run Remote Desktop on your Mac and enter your computer name in the box provided. If you don't have the Application, you can download it HERE .Then click connect. If you do not know what to enter here, call Academic Technology for assistance. NOTE: If you are off campus and you wish to access your PC, you must first connect to the network through the Suffolk VPN.

Connecting

Enter your Active Directory credentials. This is the same login information you use when you log onto your Windows computer. Make sure the domain is set to "adm". Click OK.

Warning Box

If you see this warning box, click "Connect".

Connection Complete

You should now be logged into your computer and can use it as you would if you were in front of it.

Logging Off/Disconnecting

It is important that you log off correctly. When you are finished, click Disconnect under the Start menu.
